Blair: 1 Month

Blair,

You are officially one month old!  Where is the time going?!?!  On your one-month birthday you visited the doctor for your well-baby check up.  You are 20 inches tall (8th percentile) and 7 lbs. 10 ounces (9th percentile).  You are growing and its amazing how much you have grown in just four short weeks.  It may not seem like a lot but you have gained 1 pound 2 ounces since the day you were born.

You are in newborn size clothes, which are still big on you.  They are starting to fit better, but we will enjoy them while we can because we have a feeling you will grow out of them quickly.  You are also in newborn size diapers.

You are a completely breastfed baby, but will take a bottle if it is given.  The bottles you receive are still breastmilk, hopefully we make it to one year of breastfeeding.  You nurse every 2-3 hours during the day and every 2-4 hours during the night.  After night feedings you quickly fall back asleep until you are hungry again.  You are sleeping in your crib now and do very well in it.  We swaddle you up when you fall asleep, but when you wake up you are broken from your swaddle- you love to have your arms out so you can move!

This month you got to have your first holiday (even if it's a made up one!)- Valentine's Day.  We don't celebrate the holiday- we celebrate Uncle Nathan's birthday, but you still got to dress up in your valentine's outfit.

Mommy is still home with you during the days for another month.  When mommy returns to work you will be staying with Grandma.  Daddy returned to work shortly after you were born but calls to check on you during the day and gets his daddy-Blair time in the evenings.  Many nights you will fall asleep with daddy in the chair and Mommy has to wake you both up to go to bed.

Blair- we love you more than you will ever know.  You have been such a blessing to our family!  We have made a lot of memories already and look forward to all of the new memories we will make in the future. ~Mommy & Daddy
