3 Years

Today is our 3 Year Anniversary!  It doesn't seem like it has been 3 years, but they have been 3 of the best years of my life.  It seems like so much has changed in just 3 short years and we keep getting closer and closer to our goals.
The morning of our wedding I woke up so excited!  I never really felt nervous that day because I knew we were doing the right thing.  I was marrying my best friend and vowing to spend the rest of my life with him.  The day was perfect and we spent it with all of our family and friends- things couldn't have gone better.  It wouldn't have mattered at the end of the day- I was married to Jeff and that was all that mattered.

Jeff-  I love you more than you will ever know and appreciate all you have done for me.  I know that you will love me until we are old.  Seeing our family expand and see you with Blair has been one of the most amazing things to experience with you.  You are an amazing daddy to her and best of all a very supporting husband.  I love you to the moon!

Here's to the next 80 years!  I love you!

Blair is 7 Months!

Blair,

The last month you have grown and changed so much!  We have gotten to experience a lot more firsts with you and look forward to many more.

You weigh between 15-16 pounds and are around 27 inches tall.  You just moved up to size 2 diapers.  You were 3-6 month clothes, although I have put you in some 6-9 month clothes, but they are still very  big.  You wear size 1 shoes.

You take a bottle at grandma's house every 3 hours and nurse on demand when at home.  You typically go down for the night around 7:30 and wake to eat at 3:00, then we have to wake you around 6:30 to get ready for the day.

You have started solids and love to eat!  So far you have had: Bananas, sweet potatoes, squash, apples, peaches, pears, and carrots.  You do so good eating!

You are a crawling/scooting machine!  We put you down and you are off in an instant.  You have mastered getting from your belly to sitting in no time at all.  Just in the last few days you have started to pull yourself up on things.  You love when mommy or daddy lay on the floor with you because you can pull yourself up on us.

We went camping for the first time last weekend and you did so good! We fixed you a little 'bed' on the floor and you slept very well.  You played with Mady, Aubrey, and Sid.

You also got to go to your first fair this past month.  You stayed with Grandma Pfoff while Mommy worked.  You got to meet a ton of mommy's friends and spent lots of time being passed from one person to another.

You love to take baths.  You have started to love to play in the water and it's so fun to watch your face when you splash- you think it is hilarious.

In the last few days you have also started to really love on Kuba.  You reach to pet him anytime he is close and try to crawl on top of him when he's laying next to you.

And one of the biggest milestone we have reached is you got your first tooth!  It's not completely up yet, but on August 17th we were able to see it for the first time- it goes up and down, but you have it!

We love you so much baby girl.  We are so lucky to have you in our lives and we enjoy watching you learn new things and grow each day.  You could slow down, but we cherish each and every memory with you and look forward to many more!

Love,

Mommy & Daddy

...

Because I'm in one of those moods....

I'm starting to think that we are one of the few families in today's times that take the time to have a family dinner. I have overheard people lately saying well we all have different schedules so we just eat when we can. In my family growing up we all sat at the table and had dinner together. Grated there were nights that we were all going indifferent directions but that was maybe 1 or 2 times every few weeks. I think it is becoming more and more mainstream for families to become disconnected with electronics involved as well as busy schedules. We are in a work of too many commitments not enough family time in my opinion.

I will say I am a very old school type of person. Families sit and eat dinner together, the tv doesn't need to be on all of the time,  when Blair is old enough we will be outside playing or doing something not sitting inside entertained by the tv or computer.

Do I think kids have cell phones way to young ?  Absolutely. It's all part of the social stigma. I see no reason for an 8 year old to have a cell phone. I know I will get grief for it but at 8 years old why in the world do they need one?  Tell me it's so they can reach their parents whenever- if you are brave enough to send your 8 year old out in the crazy world where you can't get in contact with someone supervising them then I have more opinions of you than you will care to hear.

Today's rant...maybe more late because it's been one of those days!

Almost 1 month later

Almost one month later and I'm finally feeling caught up enough to update. The last month has been nothing but busy. Busy at home busy at work no down time just go go go. Now that work has slowed down it means no more late nights at the office and getting back to a normal routine. After this weekend I finally feel like I am caught back up on sleep.

The last month we have been lots of places, seen a lot of friends and family, and survived the county fair. We celebrated Aubrey's 2nd birthday.

Mommy spent lots of hours at work. Blair spent lots of time with her grandmas. We celebrated with Tim & Lindsay. We put lots of green beans up and made yummy foods!
